Our well-established and highly successful client is the market leader in its sector with sites across the UK and mainland Europe.  Its broad customer base ranges from small local companies to international brands and the company’s success has been built on an excellent reputation for understanding and delivering each client’s specific needs. The business is profitable with an annual turnover in excess of £50m.

The business has enjoyed strong growth in the past few years as it has broadened its range of solutions based services and continued its successful expansion into European markets. Future plans include continued organic growth, acquisitions and the extension of existing products and services into new markets.  The company has an ongoing commitment to investment across all areas of the business including the provision of high quality technology systems and personnel.

Key to continued success is the recruitment of a Director/Head of IT whose main objective will be to determine and implement the company’s IT strategy, policies and operations ensuring the business is always able to operate efficiently, effectively and profitably.  This is a hands-on and broad based role requiring a strong commercial focus and a need to challenge and change existing practices through excellent project management and relationship management skills.

We are looking for a progressive and broad based IT professional who has successfully delivered a commercially focussed IT strategy and operations across a multi-site, multi-country and multi-product line business which is fast growing and experiencing cultural change.  Previous experience must include leading company-wide project implementations and strong team management.

A key member of the Senior Management team, the successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate an understanding of modern management methods and have a track record of managing and motivating both direct reports and those involved in broader project implementation teams.  He or she must also be financially aware, numerate and able to produce analytical and meaningful management information.  A computer science or relevant business qualification is desirable.  There will be the need to travel in the UK and overseas.
