My client, the Alliance of International Corporate Advisors known as AICA, is an integrated global network of 40 middle market advisory and finance firms based in Europe, the Americas, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.  Each member firm provides a full range of advisory services to assist clients with cross-border business sales, divestitures, mergers, acquisitions, capital raises, joint ventures, and other strategic transactions.

Membership of AICA has led to many successful introductions, joint pitches and shared mandates and enhanced the firms’ individual brands in their local markets.  AICA is keen to build on the success of these relationships and initiate further shared opportunities for middle market cross-border transactions.  Key to this is the new appointment of Director of International Business Development & Operations who will be responsible for developing and implementing business development initiatives and communication across the AICA member firms and for providing the Board of Directors with operational and administrative support.

We are looking for someone who has worked in a senior manager or Board supporting role in an international arena, and ideally within a professional services environment.   Previous experience should include leading and supporting business development, marketing and communications across multi-site teams.  An understanding of international business operations and cultures is important and experience of corporate finance or private equity will be of particular interest.  Effective communication is critical to success in the role and a high fluency in written and spoken English is essential.  Other languages will be appreciated.

This is essentially a stand-alone role which requires plenty of self-discipline, drive and determination.  Sound IT, administration and finance skills are essential as are creative skills to generate and promote high quality marketing tools and business development initiatives.

The successful candidate will need to travel on a regular basis and to be accessible to colleagues working in different time zones.  A high level of flexibility is therefore essential.  The independent nature of the role lends itself to home working and/or co-location with an existing AICA member for several days per week.  There is also the possibility of a flexible hours arrangement.
